WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA

Role: Executive Producer

At The David Prize, we run an Open Call where we ask New Yorkers to submit their ideas for a chance to win $200,000. While any New Yorker can submit—only 5 people win, so as you can imagine, we have a lot of big ideas sent our way that never see the light of day, and we've been asking ourselves forever how we can highlight more New Yorkers'.

In 2025, I finally pursued my own answer to that question by creating What's the Big Idea—a short-form video series spotlighting New Yorkers across the five boroughs and the futures they're envisioning for NYC. Over three months, I produced 35 episodes, releasing 2-3 per week and building an engaged audience that generated over 260,000 organic views on Instagram alone.

Assembling an incredible team, John Tanner as our Director of Photography and Irina Koryagina as our Designer, I brought this scrappy but beautiful series to life, creating a platform that finally showcases the breadth of vision and ambition we see from New Yorkers every day.
